Khaudum is best described as a true wilderness experience. Visiting is all about the feeling of being alone out there in nature and battling the elements. Driving through the endless sandy tracks with your 4-wheel drive can be a main feature of your trip.
Wildlife in Khaudum is plenty including elephants, lions and wild dogs but due to the thick bush it can be a challenge to spot them. There are several waterholes that you can visit in Khaudum and there are several dry riverbeds called Omuramba's crisscrossing the park. The most scenic of the Omuramba's is probably Khaudum in the North with wide views over it's floodplains bordering the sandy bottom. This is also a great spot to view wildlife looking for the sparse surface water or the holes dug by Elephants.
