Roan antelope

The Roan Antelope is a common and iconic species found in Khaudum National Park. It is known as the unofficial mascot of the park. The Roan Antelope is one of the largest antelopes and is well-suited to the semi-arid desert environment found in Khaudum. Due to its size, color and proportions, it may appear similar to a horse from a distance, earning it the name "Paardantiloop" in Afrikaans, which translates to "Horse Antelope."

The Roan antelope can be found throughout the park.

Greater Kudu

The greater kudu is a large antelope with distinctive curling horns. The kudu can be found throughout the park and prefers wooded areas above open plains.

Eland

This species is known for its impressive size with their spiral horns and distinctive white stripes on their legs.

Sable antelope

The Sable antelope is a medium sized antelope found in the Khaudum area. These beautiful creatures are known for their striking appearance, with their dark brown or black coat and white markings on the face and legs. They have long sable-like horns.
